For parents
MiniMig is a creative 3D game for children from age 3, played in the browser. No ads, no account and no analytics tools.
Build a figure together
Choose skin, hair, eyes, mouth, clothes, dresses, shoes, hats, glasses, things and backgrounds. The figure can turn around, wave, jump, cheer, do somersaults and dance. Under My dance your child can put up to five moves together into their own dance. The game remembers the figure on the device. An optional name on the top is also kept on the device only; a made-up name is a good idea.
Little games you can’t lose
Jump the ball – seen from the side, from behind or from the front – skateboard, treasure hunt, swim world, hide and seek and penalty kick, each at five levels of difficulty from snail to rocket. You can’t lose; there are stars and confetti when things go well. The stars turn into play coins in your child’s account, from 1 coin per star at the easiest level to 5 at the hardest. In the Star Shop your child pays with coins of 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20, which is good practice at adding up, and a help button lays out the coins for the youngest. In the account you can see what your child has bought. Special things are for sale here, such as a crown, a princess dress, high heels and a pet – a cat, a dog or a rabbit – that follows the figure, in the games too. Everything else is free, and nothing can be bought with real money.
Brothers and sisters on the same device
Under My figures you will find the button Children and players – for grown-ups (behind a small math problem). Here you add one child at a time: build the child’s figure, write a name if you like, and tap 📷 – the figure is now that child’s own MiniMig. Each child has their own stars and records, and with two or more children the games first ask “Who is playing?” with pictures, so nobody needs to be able to read.
Your child’s own voice
Your child can record “Hi, my name is …” under the Name tab. The first time, the device asks for permission to use the microphone – a grown-up has to say yes. The recording is kept on the device only and is never sent anywhere.
Sound
Under Sound (behind a math problem) you choose which sounds MiniMig may make: music for games and dances, sound effects and the voice saying the name.
A good screen for playing
MiniMig works best on an iPad, a tablet or a computer, with plenty of room for both the figure and the choices. The figure is in 3D, so very old devices may be a little slow. On an iPhone, try turning the phone sideways if the screen feels cramped.
On the home screen
Open the game and tap For grown-ups for instructions for iPhone, iPad and Android. You have to confirm the installation yourself.
The first time takes a little longer
The first time you open the game, the figure and the essentials have to download to the device – about 25 MB – so it takes a little longer than usual. Clothes, hair, hats, moves and pets download the first time your child chooses them, so they may take a moment to appear. If your child uses everything, the game takes up about 120 MB on the device. After that the files are on the device, so the game opens faster. Wi-Fi is a good idea the first time.
Without internet
Once the essentials have downloaded, the game can be used without internet. Under For grown-ups you can see when it is ready. Whatever your child has already used also works without internet. Anything new that hasn’t been downloaded yet needs internet the first time.
Privacy
The figure, names, stars and voice recording are not sent to us. A picture of the figure can only leave the game through the device’s own share menu, and only after a grown-up has solved a math problem. Read about local storage and hosting.
