Privacy in the browser version of MiniMig

MiniMig has no account, ads, tracking or analytics tools. The game’s choices, names, stars and voice recordings are not sent to us.
What is kept on the device
The latest figure, colors, the optional name on the top, the figures in My figures, the children’s names and figures, stars, play coins, records, things bought and the list of them, your own dances, sound choices, the language chosen and any recorded voice are kept in the browser’s local storage. None of it is sent to a server. The game’s files and pictures are also kept locally, so the game can be used offline.
The microphone
Under the Name tab your child can record their own name. The first time, the device asks for permission to use the microphone – that is your choice. Recording only happens when your child taps 🎤, and only for a few seconds, and the recording is kept on the device only, where it can be deleted with 🗑. It is never sent to us or anyone else. If you say no, the rest of the game works as before.
Deleting and different browsers
You can remove figures, stars, recordings and the offline files by clearing the website’s data in your browser’s settings. The browser may clear data by itself if it is short of space. An installed web app and different browsers may each have their own storage. Removing the icon from the home screen is not necessarily the same as deleting the website’s data.
Internet and hosting
The first visit and updates download game files from the website. It runs on GitHub Pages, which may record technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver the site and protect against abuse. See GitHub’s privacy statement. Everything – including the game’s 3D engine – is downloaded from minimig.dk itself; the game uses no external fonts, other people’s servers, statistics tools or cookies. The voice saying the name is the device’s own built-in speech.
Saved figures and sharing pictures
With ⭐ Save your child can save figures and profile pictures in My figures. They are kept only in the browser’s local storage on the device and are not sent to us.
With the camera, a picture of the figure can be made. It can only leave the game through the device’s own share menu, and only after a grown-up has solved a math problem. A grown-up can choose to let the child share without asking for a period of time; that choice is kept on the device only. A name on the top will be in the picture. We do not receive the pictures.
The game does not ask for access to the camera, location or photos – only the microphone, if your child wants to record their name (see above). The “camera” in the game only takes a picture of the figure.
